Learning and practicing yoga opens the possibilities of knowing yourself beyond what you do for work, who you socialize with, or how much you have in the bank.  The deep peace available beyond our ideas of success and failure is waiting for us just beneath the surface.

In my class you will experience a combination of challenging poses and restful in betweens to integrate your experience and deeply rest.  Be prepared to listen to your body and trust yourself enough to let go of what you no longer need.

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” ~ The Bhagavad Gita

Yoga is a science and a self study practice that develops presence, self awareness, and gradual transformation. The physical postures of Yoga are one aspect of the practice that helps us to get out of our heads and into our bodies, but Yoga is also more subtle involving breathwork, turning inward and a gradual stilling and cultivating of the mind. In a world where we are constantly seeking outside of ourselves, the practice of Yoga guides us within so we can remember our true nature and rise to our highest potential.

Yoga has always been able to meet me wherever I am at, through every season of my life. Practicing Yoga has empowered me with self care tools that have helped me to stop running from myself and taught me how to make the time to process my emotions, calm my mind, regulate my nervous system and free me from self destructive behaviors. I have seen first hand how powerful and life changing these simple practices can be when consistently incorporated into your life. This is why I am passionate about sharing Yoga with others so they can find support in their unique healing journeys and find their way back to themselves.

Emily Kuzmick, instructor

Emily Kuzmick

Emily is an ecologist, artist, and yoga instructor, teaching both environmental/sustainable concepts and yoga/meditation instruction. Having practiced yoga for over a decade and teaching since 2018, she strives to make intuitive movement and breathing accessible to all, which is one of the reasons she tends to refer to her teachings as ‘breathwork & mobility.’ She believes we live in a society that has, unfortunately, sensationalized many aspects of the yogic practice, unintentionally isolating those who might need the practice the most. Rather than focusing on poses curated for social media ‘likes,’ she tends to lead a more gentle practice that targets specific parts of the body & mind from which each individual might personally benefit. Emily currently lives in Sandusky with her partner and their plethora of animals. You can learn more about Emily and her offerings at https://emkuznature.com.
